Martin Dankovsky

General corporate & commercial advice, real estate and information technology law

While studying law at the Anglo-American College in Prague, Martin worked at the Prague offices of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey (now Squire Patton Boggs). After finishing his studies at the Charles University in Prague, Martin joined HOLEC, ZUSKA & Partners (then Holec, Klein & Doskova) in 1996. Martin later returned to Charles University in 2006 to take Eng. Lit. and Linguistics. After joining the firm, Martin participated in several large real estate development projects and has also been instrumental in providing corporate, commercial law and real estate-related advice to mostly incoming foreign (US, UK, Scandinavian and German as well as Asian) clients, which were attracted to the Czech Republic after the investment incentives scheme came fully into operation after 2000. This work included advice involved setting up corporations and providing assistance in obtaining specific mix of investment incentives, as well as acquisitions of real estate and its development, or advice relating to re-developments of brownfield sites where existing companies are being acquired. Besides advising incoming clients, Martin has also participated in a number of local M&A transactions involving corporations in electronics, automotive, petrochemical, engineering, IT and processing sectors. Martin presently continues to provide general corporate & commercial advice to local subsidiaries, leads real estate projects and since early 2000s he has been focusing on the fast-developing information technology & telecommunications sectors.
